THIS BRAND STARTED WITH A NAME
This brand started with a name. Not a business name, but a real name... my grandpa’s.
His name was Dude. And the last thing I got to tell him before he passed was that I was going to be a Mama. I didn’t know yet if I was having a boy or a girl, but I told him that if it was a boy, Dude would be part of his name.
A few months later, my son was born:
Grant Dude Simington.
Naturally, we call him Dude.
Shortly after he was born, my family was playing a round of Survival Football, and I needed a username. I typed in Dude Mama… and I just knew. That was it. The perfect name, for me, and for this brand I had been dreaming up for all the boy moms out there Raising Gentlemen.
A Name, A Legacy, A Mission: Raising Gentlemen
I come from a family that raised good men. Gentlemen, in the truest sense: respectful, hardworking, kind, and confident in who they are. I grew up watching what that looked like in everyday life, not through rules, but through example. That foundation shaped how I approach motherhood and how I’m raising my own son. I believe boys become gentlemen when they feel valued, capable, and connected; and that belief is woven into everything we create at Dude Mama.
For so long, there wasn’t a space that truly spoke to moms like us. The ones raising rowdy, kind-hearted, grubby little gentlemen. The moms who want fun, meaningful pieces they can share with their sons. The moms who see the good in their boys and are wanting to raise them into great men. That's why we created Dude Mama.
Dude Mama was officially trademarked on my Grandpa Dude’s birthday, a full circle moment I’ll never forget.
